The eastern hellbender, or North American Giant Salamander is a unique, fully aquatic salamander found throughout the western mountains of North Carolina. We are interested in conducting research on this interesting, freshwater indicator species.

At Carolina Headwaters, we are committed and dedicated to conducting high quality research in freshwater ecosystems across the Carolinas. We bring years of experience in performing biological surveys for various species. We also perform engaging K-8 bio-education outreach programs to share our passion and knowledge with the community.
